My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you want a dog who has already mastered `easy to love,` adopt Freya.
This is Freya- sweet, people-loving, and refreshingly easy. She`s a 55- lb Hound/Terrier mix born 1/12/23 who was dumped on abandoned property, yet somehow kept her gentle spirit intact. Freya is currently with a medical foster recovering from cherry eye surgery and is doing great. She is not at BAHS just yet, but she is well on her way to being adoption ready. If you want a low-drama, high-love best friend, Freya is waiting to meet you.
If you are interested in her, email the shelter at bahshelter@yahoo.com.

More about this shelter

The Bulverde Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1983 by Dolores Caldwell, BAHS is a no-kill shelter caring for up to 400 dogs and cats annually. The shelter resides on 3.25 acres of park-like land and houses indoor/outdoor kennels, a cattery, nursery/medical recovery building, agility fields, and fenced-in play yards.

BAHS is powered by volunteers and overseen by a Board of Directors. Our volunteers ensure the dogs and cats get plenty of exercise, playtime, and unlimited cuddles, love, and affection.
