My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

vanilla #927

Age: 5 years old

Color & Breed: Tricolor Basset

Gender: Spayed Female

Weight: 37 pounds

Requires: Fenced yard and confident companion dog

There’s absolutely nothing plain about Vanilla #927! This 5-year-old tricolor basset is looking for her forever home with someone who appreciates her sweet demeanor. Plot twist, she actually prefers spray cheese from a can to ice cream cones. Who knew?

‘Nilla feels safest when wrapped in a blanket (because nothing scary could be under a blanket.) If she can be joined by a bunch of stuffed animals, all the better. Because she’s still shy, a home with a fenced-in yard and lots of patience is needed. She's mostly potty trained, although sometimes things are just...scary.

Vanilla doesn’t need other dogs for comfort but does like to hide behind them when she’s scared (because she knows that having a slower friend means the T-rex will get them first.)

Vanilla is still learning how to relax and trust. With time (and enough cheese), she’ll learn how to be the best companion basset the world has ever seen. Add some Vanilla to your house!
