My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mitts – A Pretty Lady Ready for Her Forever Home ??

Beautiful Mitts found her way to us as a stray, with a kind-hearted individual caring for her until her babies were old enough to be on their own. Mitts had at least one litter while living outdoors — all while still being just a kitten herself.

When Mitts first arrived, she was unsure about human affection. With time, patience, and love, she has blossomed into quite the affectionate girl who enjoys attention and companionship.

Mitts would thrive in a calm, quieter home where she can continue building confidence. She may also enjoy having a friendly feline companion to help keep her company.

Mitts was born around 2/24/2025, is fully vetted, and ready to leave shelter life behind for a loving forever home.

Consider stopping in to meet Mitts during our open cat viewing hours:
?? Mondays: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
?? Fridays: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Or visit our website to fill out an application and schedule your own appointment to meet this sweet girl.

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
