My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Megara may be a little shy when meeting new people but give her a moment and you’ll see just how quickly her sweet personality shines. Once she feels comfortable, she’s all about gentle affection, leaning in close to be by your side and happily soaking up ear scratches and butt rubs. Treats? Yes, please! She takes them politely and is always ready for a tasty reward. During her enrichment time, Megara showed what a calm and easygoing companion she is. She loved exploring the large grassy yard at her own pace, nose to the ground, taking in all the interesting smells of the outdoors. While she briefly chased a few toys, she decided that cuddles and scratches were the real prize, checking in often for attention. When she passed an Animal Care Tech, her tail broke into big, loose wags and she couldn’t resist popping up to ask for extra love. Megara is a dream on leash. She’s one of the easiest walkers around. She stays right by your side without pulling, making strolls together relaxing and enjoyable. Shelter life can be a little noisy and overwhelming, and Megara may bark when other dogs are directly across from her, but outside of the kennel she shows a calm, affectionate, and connected nature. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will walk quietly beside you, lean in for cuddles, and warm up into a devoted best friend, Megara is ready to meet you.

Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home.
