My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shirley!

Shirley came to us when we were asked to help with multiple large colonies within a trailer park that kept having litter after litter of kittens (Shirley being a main culprit of reproducing). Although we don’t know Shirley’s full story, we believe she was possibly once owned and left behind when her original family moved away.

Shirley is a beautiful FIV+ ginger girlie whose lip gets stuck on her tooth, making her constantly looking a bit disgruntled. She is a little overweight now that she’s been inside so she’ll need an adopter who is willing to watch her food intake! Shirley has a raspy sounding meow that adds to her unique allure. She seems a little head-shy at times as she’ll jump at first pet but does enjoy them! She does well with getting brushed too. Shirley is used to having cat friends around so she would enjoy a home with other cats. Once she’s comfortable, she loves to play, bird watch, and snooze in a cat tower! We’re unsure how she’d do with dogs but think she could get along with them with proper intros. We think she would do ok with older, cat-savvy kiddos!

Shirley is approximately 2.5 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, has tested FIV+, FeLV negative, and has had a dental while in our care. Apply to adopt this adorable girl today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
