Buttermilk is a very loving lap cat who has real soulcat potential. She is a real purr machine who is more of a people cat. While she gets along well with other cats, she doesn’t need another feline companion. She’s independent enough to enjoy her free time between moments of human connection.
Buttermilk’s favorite activities include playing with toys next to a window with sunshine, using her scratchers, and grandma activities like laying about. She is a mellow, content gal looking for her forever family.
Currently in foster care in Downey. Meet & greets / pickup will be coordinated upon approved application & homecheck video. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.
All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.
We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.
We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
