My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome male tabby cat in search of an amigo with which to spend the rest of his nine lives. Could you be his purrfect match?

Amigo is the strong, silent type. He is a sweet boy who loves his human and cat companions alike, but he is also shy and likes to play hard to get! He is content to gaze at you from across the room so that you have to go to him. He is a cat after all, and it is well documented that their affections can be hard earned. We cat people know it`s always worth the effort. Amigo knows you are, too, and kindness and patience are his currency. He will rub his head on everything in his path as he works up the courage to meet you halfway, but even as he makes his approach you will hear the purring machine ignite. That is when you know he is getting primed and ready for the affection you are eager to dole out. He may not love piña coladas, but he does love quiet conversation and head rubs. And while long walks on the beach may not be his favorite, he does love a good play session with a feathery wand toy and long naps in a sunbeam.

Amigo is a friend to all of his suitemates at Tabby`s Place. However, he does have feline leukemia virus (AKA FeLV), which suppresses his immune system and can be contagious to other kitties. Due to his FeLV+ status, he would have to be the solo kitty companion in your home, or live with other FeLV+ buddies. We have a few we can recommend (wink wink)!

Additional adoption info

For an adoption fee of $150, you will take home a cat that has received the very best medical care and evaluation. Every cat that leaves Tabby’s Place has been thoroughly examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FeLV and FIV, and treated for parasites.

We are currently offering two methods of adoption meetings:
1. Adopters can meet cats in person between 2-5PM daily. Appointments are strongly recommended, but we will make every effort to accommodate walk-ins where possible. Most cats and some select kittens are available for in-person meetings.

2. Adopters can meet cats and kittens via video meeting between 10:00AM-5:00PM daily by appointment only and subject to availability. Kittens in foster homes are only available for video adoption meetings.

Get started now by completing our online application. One or our adoption counselors will then contact you within 48 hours.

For questions about adoption, please contact our adoption staff at: adoptions@tabbysplace.org.
