My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Uma – ID 16642 – Kennel 54
Belgian Shepherd / Malinois mix – black and white – female – 2 years old – 55 lb
Will be spayed prior to adoption – up to date on vaccines – heartworm negative – arrived Jan 30
Dog friendly – good with children

Uma is a very sweet, gentle girl with a soft heart and kind eyes. She can be shy at first, but she knows it — and once she feels safe, her loving nature starts to shine. Uma has had pups before, and she’s ready to close that chapter for good. She’ll be spayed prior to adoption and is looking forward to a future where she can simply be someone’s cherished companion.

Uma came to the shelter after an “escape artist” situation. She arrived with her brother, Bear. Bear was the clever one who figured out how to dig out, and Uma followed his lead. In the past, the owner usually reclaimed them… but this time no one came. Now Uma is hoping this is the moment everything changes — not another cycle of coming back, but a real new beginning and a true forever home.

She does well with other dogs and is good with children. Uma would thrive with a patient adopter and a secure setup, plus time to settle in and build confidence. With consistency, reassurance, and love, Uma is the kind of dog who will bond deeply and be grateful every single day to finally belong.
