My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Strider
8–9 months old | ~60 lbs | Lab Mix | Neutered

Strider is a sweet, sensitive boy with a calm heart and old-soul energy He’s crate trained, has wonderful house manners, and is happiest when he knows what to expect. His crate and a cozy spot in the living room are his favorite safe spaces .

Originally from Georgia, Strider is still getting used to Buffalo life and the snow , so he’s taking things slowly with short, quiet walks while he builds confidence. He’s low-energy and loves his naps —you might even catch him softly snoring or dreaming once he feels comfortable.

Strider is gentle, loyal, and thoughtful. He warms up at his own pace, is still learning some everyday noises, and always takes treats politely from your hand. He does best with routine, patience, and reassurance, and would be happiest in a calm home with older kids.

Dog-friendly and currently living with a Shih Tzu, Strider could benefit from a confident canine companion. He hasn’t lived with cats in foster care, but given his personality, he may do just fine with the right introduction.

Strider is looking for a family who will move at his pace and show him the world is safe. In return, he’ll offer quiet companionship, steady loyalty, and a heart full of love. Could you be the one to give this gentle boy his forever home? (90)

More about this rescue

Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 dog rescue organization and completely foster-based in the Western New York area. We pull dogs and puppies from high-kill rescues all over the country that are on lists to be euthanized. We place them in foster homes until they find their furever homes here in WNY. Every dog that is saved opens up room for another. So in essence two dogs lives are being saved!!
