My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meat Twister | Then Now

This handsome boy came to our rescue from Cinnaminson as part of a colony we were asked to assist with. He was actually trapped somewhat by mistake by someone who had lost their own kitty. Thankfully, I was asked if he was one of the cats I was looking for — and he was. Twister turned out to be a kitten who had not been trapped during the previous season.

This is exactly why record-keeping and photos are so important in rescue work. Keeping detailed records ensures that no one gets left behind.

Twister was trapped at the end of August and has been in our care ever since, being patiently socialized and worked with every single day. In addition to daily interaction from myself and other volunteers, Twister also had a dedicated feral “buddy” who worked with him weekly to make sure he received extra one-on-one attention.

His buddy, Kaitlyn, spent time giving him treats, purr pops, fresh bedding and water, and most importantly — love. Watching his progress and seeing her excitement as he slowly softened and began to trust was truly joyful.

I’m so happy to share that Twister is now fully rooming in the Adoption Center, integrated with the other cats and getting along wonderfully. The once scared, hissing, timid cat who didn’t want to be touched is now engaging, soliciting attention, following volunteers around, and welcoming full-body pets from head to toe.

To see a frightened feral make this kind of progress and become adoptable is one of the most rewarding experiences in rescue. It’s hard to fully put into words — but this is why we do what we do.

Twister is now available for adoption to the right home.

He will need a patient, understanding family and must have other cats in the home, as he is very social and thrives with feline companionship. He will not be adopted as a solo cat.

If you believe you can provide the right environment for Twister, I would love for you to apply and give him the forever family he deserves.
