My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hanee

2-year-old | Spayed female | 10kg | 33cm | Mixed

Rescue Story

Hanee entered a city Shelter in September 2025 with her two puppies, still wearing a red collar. Despite her past, Hanee has shown herself to be a gentle, affectionate, and loving mama who is now ready for her own forever home.

Personality & People

Hanee is slightly shy in new environments, but she warms up very quickly—especially with treats! Once she feels comfortable, she will come up to you asking for pets and affection.

She can be sensitive to sudden movements from children under 13 at first, but once she builds trust, she does very well. She enjoys being picked up and will even show her belly once she’s bonded with you.

Dog Socialization

Hanee is generally very friendly with other dogs. She likes to approach and greet both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and often invites them to play.

Sometimes, if another dog approaches her too suddenly before she’s ready, she may give a short bark as a boundary—but overall, she plays well and especially enjoys the company of male dogs.

With Cats

When she sees cats on walks, she watches them with curiosity but follows her handler well.

Cat test available upon request.

Energy Level

Medium energy. Hanee enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once she’s had her exercise, she settles nicely and rests calmly at home.

Walking & Leash

Hanee recently started leash training and has been practicing for about a month. She can still be distracted by moving or fluttering objects, but in calm environments she walks nicely beside her human without pulling.

Other Behaviors

• No food guarding (with people or dogs)

• No separation anxiety

• Rarely barks (only occasional demand barking)

• Calm in a crate/kennel

• A bit nervous about cars – needs to be carried into the car

• Currently outdoor potty trained

Hanee is a sweet, gentle soul who just needs a little time to feel safe — and once she does, she’ll give you her whole heart.

She would do best with a patient family who can continue her leash training and help her build confidence in new environments.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
