My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nutmeg 🍂

Nutmeg is a 6-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever with the perfect blend of playful energy and cozy companionship. This beautiful, sweet girl absolutely lives for fetch—she’ll happily zoom around the yard, especially if there’s a squeaky toy involved! When it’s time to slow things down, Nutmeg enjoys leisurely, sniffy walks where she can take in all the good smells.

She’s a big fan of tasty rewards (salmon and chicken flavors are her favorites!) and loves car rides—she’ll hop right in, ready for the next adventure. At home, Nutmeg is all about being close to her people. She’ll lay right next to you, soaking up pets and scratches for as long as you’re willing to give them. Her favorite way to ask for attention? Gently resting her head on your leg—heart officially melted.

When the day winds down, Nutmeg is happiest cozying up beside you for a good nap, content just to be near. She’s a loving, loyal companion who would make a wonderful addition to a home looking for both fun and affection.

If you’re searching for a sweet, gentle soul with a playful streak and a serious cuddle game, Nutmeg might just be your perfect match. 💛

Stop in and meet Nutmeg in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.

All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
