🐾 Meet Ash Ash is a friendly cat who seems to make the room feel calmer just by being in it. He was found trying to survive on birdseed that fell from a bird feeder, but a kind person stepped in to make sure he was safe and warm before bringing him to us. Thanks to that small act of compassion, Ash now has a chance at something much better.
Ash tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), which means he’ll need to be the only cat in the home (or live with another FIV-positive cat). As an only cat, Ash can soak up all the love and give it right back — your perfect one-and-only. Ash is ready to leave the hard days behind and enjoy a life of comfort — cozy naps, quiet companionship, soft food and snuggles.
Cats like Ash often wait longer for homes, simply because they arrived as strays or have medical labels attached to them. But if you’re someone who believes that kindness matters most — and that a calm, grateful companion can be the very best kind — Ash is ready to spend the rest of his life showing you how much that second chance means to him. 🖤🐾 If you are interested in learning more or would like to set up a Meet & Treat appointment, please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.hsbcpets.com/adopt

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Barron County is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter serving Barron County and surrounding areas.
Established in 1978 by a small but dedicated group of core volunteers, the HSBC started out with these volunteers taking animals into their own homes and advertising the need for forever homes for these animals. Over the years, since this humble beginning the HSBC has grown into the organization that it is today. From the homes of volunteers, relying on fundraising and the generous donations of our community, we have grown into and remain in our home on Guy Avenue in Barron.
HSBC is operated by a small staff and relies heavily on volunteers, as well as funds from donations, adoptions, memberships and fundraisers to keep our doors open for the animals needing our assistance.
We sincerely thank you for making this possible.
