My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nila!

For Nila, trust is something that’s earned—and she prefers to take life at her own pace. She is an extremely shy, gentle, and delightfully goofy little lady. Nila came to us with very little confidence after living in a limited environment, so much of the world was new and understandably scary for her.

Since arriving at the Humane Society, Nila has made quiet but meaningful progress. She’s learned that strangers aren’t so bad and has formed sweet bonds with staff. We’re lucky enough to see her silly, playful side come out—especially when she’s with other dogs, which she absolutely loves.

Nila’s ideal home would be a calm, patient environment without children 12 years and younger. She’s looking for someone who will continue helping her build confidence and gently show her that the world can be a safe and happy place. With time, understanding, and love, Nila will blossom into a truly special companion.
