My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Max! Max is a 4 year old Border Collie who is looking for a new place to call home.

Max was surrendered because his owner was elderly and unable to care for him anymore. The family of the owner brought him in with hopes that we could find him someone to love him and give him the life he deserves. Upon arrival, Max was a little bit unsure of himself, which is understandable since he's never been in a setting like this before. He's incredibly sweet and quickly gravitated to the humans for comfort, so we think he'll settle in once he's in a new home and he's given PLENTY of time to decompress and process all of the changes he's experiencing.

Max lived as an only pet so we're not sure yet what his interaction with other animals will be like. The family did say that he had visited a farm once and some of his herding instincts did kick in, but he did not live as a working dog and has been a house dog his whole life.

Unfortunately because of the lack of exercise in recent years, Max is a bit overweight. His new family should expect to give him daily walks and a healthy diet to maintain his health and well being. He rides well in the car and is potty trained (although accidents in a new setting are normal, so be patient just in case). Max's whole world changed in a day, so he's still figuring it all out but he has been nothing but sweet and such a champ so far. We think he'll do well with older/respectful children as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised.

As of right now, Max is considered a moderate-energy boy, but that may change once he settles in and is back to a healthy weight. If you think you can give this sweet boy a chance at a new life, he'd love to meet you! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved:
