Zola is an 11-week-old Shepherd/Husky mix and a sweet little pup. At just 13 pounds now, you can almost see the "old soul" wisdom in her eyes!
This little lady is practically perfect with her manners. She’s crate-trained, happily goes in on her own, doesn’t cry, and is already doing amazingly well with potty training. Zola is food-motivated, eager to please, and picks up house rules quickly, she truly tries her best to be a good girl.
She does well with other dogs and with children, but doesn't have experience with cats. A proper introduction is recommended for cats.
Zola has a calm, watchful side and loves one-on-one time, preferring to snuggle close or quietly follow her person around rather than be constantly on the move. She enjoys playtime with her brother but is overall a beautifully balanced puppy, playful when it’s time, mellow when it’s not.
One of the most heart-melting things about Zola is her nurturing nature. She keeps a careful eye on her runt brother during meals, patiently watching to make sure he eats enough instead of stealing his food. It’s a small thing, but it says everything about who she is.

The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
