Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Wilson—a handsome little terrier mix with a big personality and a whole lot of heart 💙
He’s full of life and, while he’s not a fan of cold weather, he’s being a trooper during potty breaks.
Wilson was returned last week for:
having accidents in the house
not listening
having “too much energy”
(He is a terrier mix… so yes, energy comes standard 😉)
Please keep in mind: new dogs need patience, structure, and understanding while adjusting to a new home.
Wilson was reported to be potty trained by his original owner. Accidents after a move are very common during transition periods. He is crate trained and does best with a consistent routine.
Important background:
Wilson’s original surrender happened after his owner became pregnant, as he became protective of his person.
Because of this, we believe Wilson would thrive best in:
a home with no other dogs
no small children
an adopter who understands resource guarding of his person and is willing to manage it appropriately
🐾 Cat testing has not been done.
Health notes:
Wilson has been seen by a vet in the past for skin irritation, which may be food-related. A bag of his food was brought in today and can go home with an adopter or rescue. (He’s been eating the shelter food with no issues noted.)
The good stuff:
✨ About 15 pounds
✨ Loves toys
✨ Bonds closely with his person
✨ A total sweetheart once he feels safe
We truly do not want to see Wilson fail again. He deserves a home that understands him and gives him the stability he needs to shine 🌟
