Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, my name is Spearfish! I've got 1.5 ears and a whole lotta love. I came to the shelter in November as a semi-feral kiddo with my sister. She has been adopted and now it's my turn to find my furrever home!
I'm super brave with new environments; nothing will get in my way when I want to explore! But I am pretty nervous about people still. I'm getting better every day, and my fosters are SO proud of the progress that I've made!
The way to my heart is simple - food. I love to snack! Kibble, wet food, treats, anything. Even when I'm at my most scared I can be encouraged with a Churu 😋 Don't worry though, I haven't discovered human food yet so I'll leave that alone!
I would love a home with another cat, but I'm not picky. I would thrive in a calmer household that is willing to be patient while I figure out this big scary world. The good news is that I'm very independent, so I can entertain myself for hours!
I'm going to be honest with you, you're not going to be able to pick me up and cuddle me just yet. But I LOVE to be pet and I am perfectly content to hang out and watch my people! I'm a wonderful little shadow and you'll never be bored with me around!
I can't wait to meet my new best furrends! 🖤
Love, Spearfish

More about this shelter
We are a small shelter that rescues pets from local impounds whose time is up, and would otherwise be euthanized. We only have 9 dog kennels and 26 cat kennels; as many of 80% of the animals in our care are located in foster homes throughout the community at any time. We are very limited on space within our shelter and often, we can't take in owner surrenders, but will do our best to help give guidance about rehoming pets.
We offer several services besides adoption, including microchip clinics and pet-friendly rental housing listings.
We are the only shelter in the FM area that rescues both cats and dogs, so without our help, hundreds of dogs and cats would be euthanized each year in local pounds.
