Meet Susie — a Sweet Miniature Pinscher Learning What Love Feels Like

Susie is a Miniature Pinscher who will be 4 years old in May, and she’s a retired breeder momma now discovering life beyond her past. She’s a gentle, sweet girl who is still shy with humans but blossoms when she feels safe—especially with the help of her dog friends.

Susie loves playing with other small dogs and currently has several in her foster home who are helping show her the ropes. Having confident canine companions has been huge for her, and she truly thrives in their company. Susie also LOVES cats!

She is working hard on house training and has been doing a great job by following her little friends outside when it’s time to potty. With consistency and patience, she continues to make progress every day.

Susie recently saw a veterinary eye specialist due to a visible white area on one eye. It was confirmed that she is blind in her right eye, likely from an old ulcer or injury that was never treated. She has also had a dental at the time of her spay and is otherwise doing well. Her vision loss does not slow her down—Susie adapts beautifully and navigates her world just fine.

Because Susie does not walk well on a leash and is very fast, a secure fenced yard is a must for her safety. She will need a home that understands her need for gentle handling, patience, and safe containment while she continues to build confidence.

Susie’s ideal home would be a quiet, loving environment, preferably with other small dogs, and humans who are willing to let her move at her own pace. In return, you’ll get a tender-hearted little dog who is learning that she is finally safe—and cherished.

Susie’s best days are still ahead of her!

I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
