Meet Daisy - a fun-loving and athletic dog looking for her forever home. Could it be with you? Daisy is packed with energy, personality and endearing qualities that will make her the perfect companion for a family willing to invest the time into a special dog.
Daisy is a young adult hound-mix, approximately 55lbs, and is quite athletic for her size, with long legs that give her impressive jumping and agility skills. She has an incredible ability to stand straight up like a person without any support - a talent that never fails to amaze! Daisy might be an excellent candidate for agility training as a hobby, as both a great outlet for her energy and an opportunity to bond with her new family. Daisy's favorite activities include daily walks, rolling on her back in the grass (a simple pleasure that brings her great joy), squeaker toys and belly rubs. When she's happily playing with her toys, Daisy makes adorable little chirping sounds, adding to her unique charm. Daisy is an affectionate companion who loves being petted and will politely ask for belly rubs.
Daisy is house-trained and crate-trained. She can be trusted alone in the house for several hours, though the crate is her “safe” spot and she comfortably and willingly spends time in it. Daisy knows basic commands, rides comfortably in a car and takes regular, daily walks on a leash for exercise. Daisy displays “friendly over-excitement” with all new things! Daisy can be vocal and pull on the leash, especially when visiting with new people or other dogs, but she is responsive to positive reinforcement and redirection. Daisy recently spent time at "camp" with our friends at Parkway Pet Lodge for a week-long training program. Daisy made doggy friends and made great progress sharpening her basic obedience skills and leash manners. She's friendly with everyone and loves to play once guests are inside and the interactions with other dogs are positive and monitored. She has not been observed around cats and has been known to chase. Proper introductions with any resident animals, new situations and new people are always a must. We imagine Daisy would be a perfect fit and thrive with an active family (adult-only or with older kids only) who can provide daily exercise and appropriate outlets for her energy.
All dogs are up-to-date on age/weight appropriate vaccines, exams, monthly preventatives, heartworm tested (negative), flea treated, dewormed, spayed/neutered and microchipped. If not completed at the time of adoption, any remaining initial vetting will be covered by the rescue.
