Foster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: Elektra came to SCAT in October 2025 with her two clever kittens (Einstein and Edison). Now that her babies have gone to their forever homes, she is putting her time and energy into learning how to be a housecat. At an estimated 1 to 2 years old, this elegant girl has a life of luxury ahead of her.
While still shy and scared, Elektra is also proving herself to be a quick study. She’s been taking detailed notes on her foster human’s behavior and is becoming convinced that a warm bed, regular meals, soft words, and pets from a backscratcher with a REALLY long handle might not be so bad. Miss E now meows politely for breakfast and comes out of her kennel to take treats directly from her foster’s hand.
Elektra is not yet ready for adoption, but she opens up more every day and we can’t wait to see this girl’s personality shine brighter and brighter. And in the meantime, we’ll continue to enjoy the adorable side-eye she throws our way when she’s trying to decide if a treat is worth tolerating the latest human shenanigans.

More about this rescue
Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
