Looking for a fun, active pair of rats for your family? Then Meet Antonio and Joe Joe. Antonio came to us from another shelter and when Joe Joe arrived we thought they would like to be friends. Joe Joe was a stray and fortunately these two don't mind each other at all. While you may not see them snuggling we do know they are happier with company.
Antonio LOVES people and wants to be held, be up on shoulders and just hanging out with his humans. Joe Joe is busy, busy, busy. He'll stay up on shoulders for a bit but then it's time to explore his surroundings. Joe Joe loves to have hidey beds that he can pull the stuffing out of to make it more comfortable. Antonio likes hidey boxes but also just curling up on some paper. These two are quite the pair and are sure to make anyone smile watching them. As we mentioned, Antonio craves and loves attention. So make sure you have time for him and well, Joe Joe, he's fine to just run around and check in with his humans every few minutes.
Rats are great companion pets! They are very social animals, so most rats need to live in pairs or in larger "mischiefs". Rats are very energetic and love to climb, so they need a large cage (minimum 7,000 square inches for a pair) with lots of things to play with. And while they only live 2-3 years on average, your pet rats will definitely make a big impact!
