My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER NEEDED BY FEBRUARY 10th!

Rambo & Nonna [Seeking an Adopter or Foster-to-Adopt Home]

Rambo and Nonna are two incredibly sweet, silly little dogs who have been through a big loss and are ready for their next chapter. They came to Waggytail Rescue after their beloved human sadly passed away, and as far as we know, they’ve lived together their entire lives. We believe they may be mother and son.

Their personalities complement each other beautifully. Nonna is calm, steady, and quietly confident, while Rambo is a sensitive lovebug with oversized ears and a big heart. Rambo is emotionally bonded to Nonna and struggles when separated from her, while Nonna is more independent. Because of this dynamic, our ideal scenario is an adopter or foster-to-adopt home willing to welcome both dogs together, though we are thoughtfully exploring other options if needed.

In their foster home, both dogs have been absolute joys:

  • They are crate trained and have been left alone for about 5 hours with no issues

  • They are mostly potty trained — they use a mix of pee pads but also know to go as soon as they get outside and do very well with a consistent routine

  • They’ve settled into an easy, predictable schedule:
wake up with their human → breakfast and walk → nap → lunchtime pee break → nap → dinner, walk, and final pee break before bed

  • They are great with new people and warm up quickly

Both dogs would do best in a calm, patient home that understands they’re still adjusting to a big life change and may need a little grace as they continue to settle in. They’ve shown they are adaptable, affectionate, and eager to be part of a loving routine.

What they need most now is stability, kindness, and consistency — whether together in one home (our preference) or, if necessary, in carefully chosen placements that set them up for success.

If you’re interested in adopting or fostering-to-adopt Rambo and Nonna (together or to learn more), please reach out. They are truly special little dogs and will reward the right home with so much love.

The combined adoption fee for Rambo and Nonna is $800 total. This bundled fee reflects our standard adoption fee for an adult dog is $450 per dog.

Under Waggytail’s care, both dogs will receive spay/neuter, a full round of vaccinations, wellness exams, and any additional medical care deemed necessary before adoption.

To apply for Rambo & Nonna, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

STEP 1: Apply!
Download and complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION from www.waggytailrescue.org/adopt-a-waggytail

STEP 2: The Meet and Greet!
We strongly suggest the ALL members of the household come to the meet and greet. This is the time to determine whether a dog's personality is match for you, your family and your other animals, and if you have allergies. If everything goes well you may adopt the same day, or take a day or two to decide, but we cannot indefinitely hold dogs in foster care for you.

STEP 3: Contract and Donation!
Fill out and sign the TRANSFER AGREEMENT.

The DONATION FEE may be paid by Venmo (@WaggytailRescue) or Paypal (waggytailrescue@gmail.com, add $15 processing fee). Please put the name of the dog in the memo section! Electronic payment is preferred!
You may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue), however processing of adoptions may be delayed by up to 2 weeks.
If your new buddy is not yet neutered, a $100 refundable deposit must be paid at adoption.

Dog Donation Fees
(includes microchip registration, age appropriate vaccines, and neuter)

$550 for puppies under 1 year
$450 for dogs 1 to 8 years
$325 for seniors over 9 years of age

Please add an additional $15 when paying by PayPal to cover processing fees.
Add $100 neuter deposit for unfixed animals.
