My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nimbus – 4-Year-Old Aussie Cattle Dog / Bluetick Coonhound / Certified Good Boy Mix (50 lbs) – Lyles, TN (Dickson)

Let’s talk about this handsome, slightly goofy, very good boy.

Nimbus is about 4 years old (birthday around June), neutered, and around 50 pounds of personality. He’s an Aussie Cattle Dog and Bluetick Coonhound mix, with an official side title of Certified Good Boy. He’s a sweet, kind-hearted pup with a gentle temperament and just enough sass to keep life interesting. He’s playful, loving, and has the cutest way of showing affection. He’s not big on big bear hugs, but he will absolutely hold your hand, give you little kissies, and happily lay right next to you like your loyal sidekick.

He is fantastic with other dogs and is often used as the peacekeeper when personalities get a little… spicy. He’s incredibly smart, loves learning new tricks, and is very play-motivated. His favorite toy is a stuffed duck that makes a real quacking noise, and yes, he is OBSESSED. He has loads of personality, very expressive eyes, and that “main character energy” that makes everyone fall in love with him.

Nimbus can be nervous around very small children and would do best in a home with kids 10+. Quick movements can startle him a bit, so he thrives in a calm, steady environment where he can feel safe and relaxed. He will need to be brought up to date on his vaccinations.

His dream home would have space to run and play, or a human who loves walks, adventures, and having a four-legged shadow. He does best when he has people around and would love someone who has time to spend with him. He is not crate trained and would much prefer to be out living life with you than hanging out alone. He may do especially well in a home with other dogs to keep him company.

It’s unknown how he is with cats, as he hasn’t really been around them, but he has never shown any aggression toward other animals. He’s generally just curious and friendly when meeting new buddies.

If you or someone you know is looking for a loyal sidekick with a big heart, a goofy personality, and a serious love for squeaky duck toys, Nimbus could be your perfect match. Message me if you’d like to meet him and spend some time getting to know him. His adoption fee is waived; however, transport costs are not included. If you’re located outside of Tennessee, please be prepared to cover transport, and we’ll gladly help coordinate everything with our trusted transporter.

And if you’re not in a place to adopt right now, please share this post so we can help this sweet boy find his happily ever after.

More about this rescue

We are a 501 (c)3 foster-based non-profit community of volunteers dedicated to finding forever homes for animals in need of adoption. Overcrowded animal shelters in the south and LA euthanize almost 70 percent of their animals due to lack of space or funds, and that is where we step in...We want to bring joy and tail wags to everyone we work with.
