Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Kiko 💛
Kiko is a beautiful 3–4 year old shepherd mix whose journey with us began in July of 2023 when she arrived through animal control. We don’t know much about her early life, but what we do know is that she has spent her time with us proving just how special she is.
Her first stay at the shelter was short — she was quickly adopted into a wonderful home and enjoyed a happy couple of months with her family. Unfortunately, when her family was deployed overseas, they were unable to take her with them, and Kiko found herself back with us through no fault of her own.
On her second adoption, Kiko joined a large, loving family where she was truly adored. She did great with the older kids and loved being part of the action. However, as a new baby joined the household and began crawling and becoming more mobile, it became clear that the unpredictability of a very young child made Kiko uncomfortable. For everyone’s well-being, it was decided that Kiko would thrive best in a home without young children.
Kiko is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves people and attention. She’s active, playful, and full of life — always ready to run, play, and be someone’s adventure buddy. She has a great foundation: she’s house trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, knows basic commands, does well with other dogs, and has successfully lived with cats.
More than anything, Kiko is hoping for a forever home where she can finally settle in for good. She’s ready to give her whole heart to someone who will commit to her and give her the stability she deserves.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, fun-loving companion, Kiko might just be your perfect match. 🐾💛

If you rent we must call and verify with the landlord that you are allowed to have pets.
As with all animals adopted here, there is a contract that states if the adopter during any time of the animals life can no longer care for under any reason they have to be returned here, they cannot be sold traded or given away. We also offer a 14 day return policy so that if you get home and the animal doesn't work out for any reason you can return them to us and do an exchange for another dog or cat one time. If returned within those 14 days. The contract also states per Missouri Law the animal MUST be spayed or Neutered within 30 days of the adoption date depending on the age of the animal. We have been known to go and take animals back that have not been taken care of or if there is a breech of contract. We are always willing to take strays or animals that the owners can no longer care for. We take these animals by appointment and as space allows. To drop off animals to us we charge an intake fee of $30.00 which helps to provide vaccinations for our animals.
