Eartha came to us with her three siblings and was extremely shy when she first arrived. The world felt big, loud, and overwhelming but this sweet girl has been doing some serious inner work. With patience, consistency, and a lot of love Eartha has blossomed into a sweet, gentle pup who is now thriving in her foster home.
In foster care, Eartha has discovered that life is pretty great when you’re surrounded by other pets and kind people. She takes comfort from other dogs, learns by watching them, and gains confidence from their calm energy. Because of this, Eartha would do best in a dog savvy home with at least one confident canine companion to show her the ropes. She is also ok with cats.
While Eartha has made incredible progress, she’s still sensitive. For that reason, we’re looking for a home without children, where she can continue to build trust at her own pace and feel safe as she grows into the confident dog we know she can be. Eartha may not be the dog who rushes up first to say hello but give her time, and you’ll earn something truly special: a loyal, soulful companion who forms deep bonds and will quietly change your world. If you’re ready to give Eartha the safe, loving home she’s worked so hard to be ready for, she’s ready to meet you.

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Visit our website at HeartofRI.org for an in depth view of our policies, procedures, fees, and exactly what they include.
Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience.
