I adopted Calla Lilly from a rescue about 5 years ago. Her owner had died. She is a senior but has all the energy of a puppy. She is very loving and likes kissing and sitting on your lap. Currently she lives with a very old maltese. She is a great watchdog and will especially protect you from squirrels. She is only 7 lbs, but thinks she is a Great Dane. That’s the problem. I am marrying a man who has a German Shepherd mix, and Calla thinks she needs to protect me from him. We are concerned that Calla could be injured if they find an opportunity to fight or if the German Shepherd accidentally hurts her while trying to play. The maltese will not provoke the German Shepherd and is much bigger. She would probably do well in a family with children who would run and play with her.
