My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ceviche is a 2-year-old terrier mix with a big personality that's still growing along with his confidence. When he first arrived as a stray, he was very shut down, fearful, and unsure of the world around him. With time, patience, and gentle care, he's begun to trust and has blossomed into a playful, rowdy, and delightfully silly boy with lots of energy to share. Ceviche loves zooming around, playing with his stuffies, and hopping! This little athlete has quite an impressive jump and isn't shy to show it off when he's excited! While he's come a long way, adopters should understand that he can still feel nervous around new people and in unfamiliar situations. He'll need a patient home that's willing to listen to his cues, move at his pace, and introduce new experiences and people thoughtfully so he can continue building confidence. The world is still new to Ceviche, and he'll benefit from ongoing training, structure, and reassurance. In return, you'll get a sweet, playful companion whose goofy energy and growing trust make every bit of the journey worthwhile. Ceviche is currently available behind the scenes with behavior consult. Please ask Customer Care to learn more about him.

Additional adoption info

Four simple steps to adopt a pet
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle.
2. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, you will need to introduce them at the SPCA to ensure a good match. When adopting, please bring your current dog with you. Our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt. We also prefer when possible that all family members living in the home meet any new pet before adopting.
3. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time.
4. Take your new lifelong family member home!

We understand that sometimes potential adopters are at work or school, coming from long distances, or need time to gather pets and family together to meet their potential new adoptee. Because of this, the SPCA offers a 24 hour hold on adoptable pets.
Holds cost $30 for a 24 hour period.
