Meet Sushi 🍣💛
3-year-old Pug Mix

Sushi is a gentle little soul looking for a patient, loving home after being found as a stray and never reclaimed. She can be timid and shy at first, especially with new people and larger dogs, but give her a little time and reassurance and you’ll quickly see her sweet side come out.

Once Sushi feels comfortable, she truly blossoms. She enjoys going for walks and does well on leash when she’s settled, and her favorite place to be is right where she feels safest—curled up in your lap. She’s affectionate, loving, and happiest when she’s close to her people.

Sushi may not know any formal commands yet, but she makes up for it with her loving nature and eagerness to connect. She would do best in a calm home with someone who understands shy dogs and is willing to let her move at her own pace.

If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly companion who will reward your patience with devotion and affection, Sushi might be the perfect match 🐾💖

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

Submit Application

Pay Fee

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
