Meet Dexter & DeeDee — a perfectly paired Chiweenie duo looking for their forever couch (together)
Dexter and DeeDee are 9½-year-old Chiweenie siblings who have been together since the day they were born—and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Adopted as puppies from Fur Fun Rescue, they’ve spent their entire lives with the same loving family. Due to a recent, significant health challenge in the home, their family made the incredibly thoughtful decision to let these two find a new place to land where they can continue to thrive.
Dexter is the tiny adventurer of the pair, weighing in at just 6.7 pounds and built more like his Chihuahua side. Don’t let his size fool you—Dexter is convinced he’s your personal protector. He bonds deeply with his people, has the most adorable little prancing walk, and approaches life with confidence and curiosity. Dexter does have a heart murmur and takes medication at a cost of $1.50 per day to help his heart pump efficiently, which he loves hidden in liverwurst.
DeeDee believes that the fastest way to anyone’s heart is through snacks—and she’s not wrong. Offer her food and you’ve got a best friend for life. She’s an excellent crumb-cleaner and uses a slow-feed bowl at mealtimes to keep her from inhaling her food. Sweet, gentle, and food-motivated, DeeDee is all about comfort and closeness.
Together, these two are pure coziness. They are very loving, always want to be near their people, and couch time means you’ll have two warm, breathing hot-water bottles snuggled against you—especially if there’s a lap blanket they can tunnel under. They’re deeply bonded to each other and rarely stray far apart. One of their favorite ways to show affection is cleaning each other’s ears, so don’t be surprised if they occasionally have adorably wet ears.

• Fully house-trained
• Use an indoor potty pad with fake grass when Iowa weather isn’t cooperating
• Enjoy going outside and require a physically fenced yard for safe exploring and play
• Do well with other small dogs
• Do well with respectful children
• Spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations
• On heartworm prevention
• Recent dental cleaning

After we recieve your application we will set up a time for you to meet the dog your are interested in.

After meeting the dog if you want to adopt we are going to process your application and do a home visit.

We always do meeet and greets and make sure dogs do well together prior to an adoption. Our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly prevention.

We are a foster home based rescue and don't house our dogs in a shelter. We arrange meet and greets with our dogs at their foster homes after recieving an adoption application.
