My name is Jersey!

Hi! My name is Jersey, and I’m a young guy looking for a family who will love me and help me blossom into the amazing dog I know I can be. My life didn’t start out very easy, I was found emaciated and spent two weeks at a shelter in Milwaukee before Best Paws Rescue gave me a second chance.

Now I’m living the good life in my foster home, and wow… I LOVE it here! There are so many toys, comfy beds for naps, and regular meals that are helping me get healthy and strong. I’ve recently discovered that cuddle time is pretty awesome, and my foster dad says I’m well on my way to becoming a professional snuggler.

I’m a very sweet boy who loves toys and enjoys being around people and other dogs. I really want to play with my foster dog sibling. I’m just still learning how to ask and figuring out dog manners and social cues. I’m not mean or aggressive at all, just a little inexperienced and eager to learn. I’m still working on potty training, but I’m making progress. I sleep quietly in my crate at night, which my foster parents really appreciate. I’ve also met cats! I was curious and wanted to play, but I respected them when they hissed and swatted. Such good feedback, right Because I’m young and enthusiastic, I could do well with children as long as parents understand I might accidentally knock little ones over and can get a bit mouthy when excited (I do listen well to correction). With continued socialization and training, I have all the potential to become an incredible companion.

All in all, Jersey has had a rough start, but he’s incredibly loving, eager to learn, and ready for a family who will help him build confidence and continue showing him how good life can be.

Our organization is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers who give their time and love out of the goodness of their hearts.
