My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stafford’s story almost ended before it really had a chance to begin. This 3-year-old, 23-pound sweetheart landed at a crowded local shelter after being found as a stray. Scared, overwhelmed, and battling a cough, he was at serious risk. Thankfully, we were able to step in just in time and bring him to safety.

Once Stafford arrived at the rescue, everything changed. His cough cleared, his nerves settled, and out came the real Stafford: a joyful, affectionate, and absolutely charming little guy who just needed someone to believe in him. Stafford is the kind of dog who lives life with enthusiasm. He loves to run, play, and explore, and he’s always up for a walk or a new adventure. At the same time, he’s also a certified cuddle connoisseur who’s happiest curled up close to his people after a day of fun. He’s incredibly people-focused and thrives on attention, connection, and being part of whatever you’re doing.

He’s athletic (and surprisingly springy!), so a secure yard and an engaged owner will help set him up for success. Stafford would do best with an active person or family who’s excited to include him in daily life, whether that’s neighborhood walks, playtime in the yard, or cozy evenings on the couch.

What Stafford really wants is simple: consistency, companionship, and someone who will love him as much as he loves back. After everything he’s been through, he’s ready to trade uncertainty for stability and become someone’s loyal sidekick. Stafford is equal parts playful spirit and tender heart, and he’s more than ready for his forever chapter. Could that be with you? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
