Hi there! My name is Mista and I'm a handsome brown tabby kitty with a big heart. I can be shy meeting new people, but soft talk and slow movements will help me to open up. Then you'll see what a sweet, social and loving fella I am. I enjoy head pets and chin scratches. I like to snack on Friskies crunchy treats. I like catnip. I'm playful and always enjoy a rousing game of chase the wand toy. I just happen to be looking for a loving person to share my life with. I'm good company and fun to hang out with. I'd love to curl up on the sofa with you to watch your favorite shows. Do I sound like the purrfect kitty for you? I sure hope so! You should make arrangements so we can meet. My Fabulous Foster can tell you other fun things about me! We could have an awesome life together!

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is an independent, local, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and recognized by Charity Navigator as a Four Star Charity. Operating the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, an open-admission facility and Alexandria’s only animal shelter, the League provides care for more than 3,500 animals every year, including strays, lost pets, local wildlife, rescue animals, and pets surrendered by their owners. Serving the community since 1946, the League has contracted with the City of Alexandria to provide animal care, control, and sheltering services since 1989. The AWLA is committed to ending animal homelessness, promoting animal welfare, and serving as an educational resource for the community.
