Checkers is a high-energy dog that we adopted from the pound around 8 months ago. He is good with kids (my youngest is 8) and we have a 7 pound dog that he also gets along with. Since he was from the pound, they estimated he was around 3 months old when we adopted him so he is probably coming up to a year. Unfortunately, I don’t know his breed specifically. We were told he was a pointer but as he’s gotten older, I would say he definitely has some Pitt in him. We have crate trained him and he’s doing well, however, he seems to have high anxiety, chews everything, and has been urinating on my couch in what I feel is out of spite. Honestly, he’s a good dog but I think he needs more work and exercise than I have time to give. I recommend he goes to someone who has knowledge and experience training dogs or who has time to dedicate to his training. He would benefit from an active lifestyle or somewhere with land or a fenced yard that he could run and get out some of his energy.
