My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kara (nka Blue) was adopted from Coastal Pet Rescue in 2015 as a puppy. Recently her owner has had health issues and so she finds herself back in rescue in her golden years. Blue is a very sweet old lady with some arthritic legs - she moves very stiffly and slowly. Right now her skin is a little rough, but we'll be working on that as she continues her stay with us. She needs somewhere to land where she can just be devoted and grateful, but mostly lie in the warmth and relax with a human companion.

We are assessing whether Blue is bonded with her friend Princess - they have been together for many years! Ideally, a potential adopter would offer both old girls a final home.

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

Coastal Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected animals in the coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. Our goal is to save as many pet lives as possible through rescue and to provide opportunities to the public to become better pet guardians.
