My name is Katniss!

If you’re a sucker for doggy hugs and kisses, you need to meet Kat! Her forward solicitation of affection is the cutest! If you’re standing, she’ll stand to give you hugs and kisses. If you’re sitting, she’ll shamelessly crawl into your lap to ‘hang out’ and to give you kisses. Nothing is more comforting than knowing that your pup loves you unconditionally <3 If you need a little breathing space from Katniss, toss her a toy. She will go to town with it! Watch her toss toys in the air and then try to catch them. It’s cute! She is intrigued by balls and has fun chasing them. Stuffed animals, she will shake them from side to side and then rip them apart. Why her name is Katniss :D There’s a saying that goes: be careful what you name your pup. Otherwise, this girl loves toys and will self-entertain 😊While Kat is good in a crate, she barks for attention if she knows you are home. She loves car rides. She walks pretty good on a leash except for some initial pulling from excitement. Kat is generally good with dogs but like most Akitas, she does not like random dogs coming into her space uninvited. Proper introductions go a long way! Best to pair her up with dogs her size as she is a jumper and a rough player. WWF rough. Yeah, pinning a dog on the ground and all :/ She plays better with boy pups. We’re gonna let you in on a little secret – Kat does not like her butt or tail touched.

Katniss is 1.5 years old, 80lb Akita. She is looking for a family (older kids) who does not mind being lovingly squooshed by an 80lb pup. Kat will want to be in your lap and exchange kisses. She is very affectionate.
