My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chanel (ACCT-A-211361)! This lovely lady is looking for her forever home and could be the perfect addition to your family.

Chanel is a friendly dog who seems to enjoy gentle interactions. She's treat-motivated, taking them gently from your hand (though can get a little snatchy once she’s more comfortable!). While she might be a little shy at first around new people, especially in busy environments, she warms up quickly with treats and positive attention. She walks well on a leash and responds to gentle guidance.

She previously lived happily with children and even cats! While she can be a little unsure around new dogs initially, she's shown the ability to be tolerant and even playful after she feels more comfortable.

Her previous owner described her as a playful and spoiled dog who still thinks she's a baby! She's used to being indoors and is crate trained.

If you're looking for a loving companion who will bring joy to your home, Chanel might just be your girl. Meet her at ACCT Philly any day from 10am-6pm!

Additional Notes:
Behavior Eval 02/08/2026:
Kennel Presentation: Greeted me with a calm and patient body and soft eyes. I put my leash in and allowed her to sniff it for a minute and then I moved it towards her to leash and she backed away. I dropped a few treats and then let her sniff my hand and I leashed her with a big loop with no issue.

Leash Skills: On leash, she walked forward hesitantly and responded to my leash pressure.

Sociability: In the play yard she had very comfortable and loose body language with me and came right up to me to take treats! She takes them super gently out of my hand. Didn’t seem to know any tricks. She did not actively solicit any pets from me, but was very comfortable in my presence. A little snatchy with treats once more comfortable. Was a little shy when we got to the volunteer office with many new handlers but got much more loose with treats! Super treat motivated!

Play: She showed some very mild interest in toys, however never really chased after them, she just watched where they went when I threw them.

Dog Interaction: We did a dog meet with a pretty high energy smaller dog. Chanel was conflicted however interested in the interaction. She did some bows, however when they got face-to-face, she will freeze. She doesn’t have a full tail, but it seemed to be in the upright position. As the interaction went on, she got more comfortable, and she was pretty tolerant with the other dog jumping up towards her. However, body language remained tense.

Return to Kennel: For returning to kennel she went in easily then tried to back away for unleashing. Color Level: Giving her gold due to some mild fear at first Recommendations and considerations:
