My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ Meet Opal ✨

Opal is a two-year-old dilute calico with the softest colors and the calmest soul. If cats were weather, she’d be a gentle breeze through an open window. Mellow, observant, and perfectly content, she’s the ultimate companion for a peaceful home.

Why we love her:
• Easygoing: She’s moved past the "zoomie" kitten phase and prefers a relaxed, easy rhythm.
• Social Butterfly: She brings her calm energy to everyone—she gets along beautifully with kids, other cats, dogs, and even small animals.
• Low Maintenance: While she has a curious side and loves to explore her surroundings, she’s mostly happy just being near her people.

Opal has a small amount of eye discharge that requires a quick, gentle wipe every now and then. Her vet has given her a clean bill of health; it’s just a little quirk that doesn't slow her down one bit!

Opal is ready to trade her foster life for a "forever" spot on your sofa.

Opal is fostered in Holmen, WI.

More about this rescue

We help animals who are in need by placing them in a loving foster home, providing medical care, and finding the perfect home for that animal to live in for the rest of its life. Tails of Hope takes mainly dogs, but has occasionally helped other animals in need. We take animals in through shelters and other rescue organizations, as strays, or as owner surrenders from people in our local communities.
