BartholoMew was found outside as a kitten by his previous owner with an undeveloped eye. They got him fixed and got his infected, partial eye removed, but they felt he was too expensive to keep when he got his cone off and opened up his stitches, and they surrendered him to us.
Hes fully healed now and running amok in the shelter, tackling kittens.
Playing is his focus in life and we feel he needs a bigger cat to play with at home (maybe even two!). While he probably doesnt know what a dog is, with a proper introduction, we can see him doing really well with one.
Come see him Wednesday through Sunday noon to 3, Saturday noon to 4.

We currently have many wonderful cats available for adoption. The fee is $75.00. This fee includes feline leukemia and FIV tests,microchip, spaying or neutering, rabies and feline distemper vaccines, and deworming. We do not adopt to homes that declaw or let their cats outside.

Just off US 1, north of the Pineda causeway on Otter Creek Lane...our paws accept visitors Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 4pm (3pm on Sunday). It is a great idea to bring your own carrier in case you find your purrfect match and adopt on the same day.

The Humane Society of South Brevard is an independently-run, non-profit, no-kill animal shelter. We DO NOT euthanize ANY animal unless their quality of life would suffer due to major medical problems. Our cats are free to roam inside our facility. We always strive to provide individual attention to all of our animals until they can be placed in caring, loving, lifetime homes. We have provided this service since 1978. In the unlikely event you find the pet you have adopted does not quite fit into your family, we will always take our cats back.
We take in cats on a pre-arranged basis only. Since we are a no kill shelter we take new cats as cats are placed and make room for more.
