My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful boy is Mochi - he is 14 months old, is healthy, neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. His current owner loves him very much but a change in her lifestyle has her looking for a more suitable home for Mochi. This pup was originally brought to the USA from Albania by a rescuer. He is calm, house-trained, loves people, love chasing cats (a cat-free home would be best) and good with dogs but prefer playing with female dogs, as I've noticed!

In general, Mochi is shy and he hides behind his owner when they encounter dogs on walks, but he clearly shows interest and wants to play once he feels safe. A patient home that would love him and understands gentle introductions would be ideal for Mochi.

Despite his rough start on the streets of Albania, Mochi has been a wonderful companion- he is affectionate, playful, and deeply bonded to his person

From his owner: I love him very much but my lifestyle is not for him. He needs a stable home, love and care, and I truly hope he finds what he deserves!

Although Mochi is not a NorthStar dog, we will be processing applications on behalf of his owner. Please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for him by name, XP MOCHI!

NOTE:  This pet is being shared by NorthStar Pet Rescue on behalf of another organization or individual and is not a NorthStar Pet Rescue dog. NorthStar cannot guarantee the accuracy of this listing, and any applications and inquiries about this pet made will be sent to the originator.

More about this rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. NorthStar Pet Rescue is IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 81-5348036).
