My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dexter, a joyful, affectionate boy who believes life is best enjoyed close to the people he loves. He’s happiest sitting nearby, leaning in for pets, or curling up for a good snuggle. Attention makes his tail wag, and he gives that love right back tenfold. Born around May 2025, Dexter shares a deep, unbreakable bond with his sister, Lexi. After being abandoned together, the two relied on each other for comfort and reassurance. That connection still guides him today. Dexter follows Lexi everywhere. If she goes inside without him, he’ll search until he finds her—and once he does, he races right up to her like he’s been reunited with his favorite part of the world. Because of this bond, Dexter and Lexi must be adopted together. Dexter is playful in the most endearing way. He loves toys and chew bones, but his idea of fun extends far beyond traditional dog toys. Empty egg cartons, cardboard boxes, everyday odds and ends—if it exists, Dexter is willing to try playing with it at least once. He’s friendly, loving, and full of personality, including a classic Pyr-style stubborn streak. When Dexter is outside and decides he’s not ready to come in, he’ll simply lay down and let you know he’s made his choice. He also would not be a good fit for a home with chickens or ducks. Dexter is a loyal, loving boy with a gentle soul and a playful heart. Dexter and Lexi are ready for a home where they’ll never be left behind again, where they can continue to share their story together.
