PICKERING, ON - Meet Bebe — professional heart-stealer, part-time scaredy-cat, full-time good boy! Bebe is one of those dogs who reminds you that it truly takes a village. Thanks to some determined rescue heroes, Bebe and his dad Milo were given the chance to trade a tough past for vet care, safety, and a fresh start with SPIN — and we were lucky enough to welcome him into foster care.
When Bebe first arrived, people were… let’s say highly suspicious. He preferred bouncing around like a nervous ping-pong ball rather than getting close, because for most of his life, avoiding humans was just smart survival. Fast-forward to now and Bebe has learned that some people are actually pretty great (especially the ones with treats and gentle voices). Others? Still a work in progress — but hey, self-growth takes time.

Each adoptive family will complete an application, come out to meet the available dog(s) and then email us after the meeting to let us know their intentions to pursue the adoption. We will do a home visit, check their references and then decide on the best home for each dog. Once a home is chosen, the family will sign our adoption contract and pay the $450 adoption fee prior to taking their new family member home with them!

SPIN strives to educate and raise public awareness about how to be responsible for and share your life with a companion animal. We talk about the importance of spay/neuter programs, the deplorable conditions found in puppy mills and advocate for change. We are most proud, however, of our work in engaging like-minded people together by providing a forum to discuss how to care for and celebrate the poodle breed, but also to come together when necessary to help poodles in need.
