My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Welcome BECKHAM to our rescue!**

Beckham is being fostered in Markham.

We’re so happy to introduce the very handsome **Beckham**, who recently came into our care after being lovingly surrendered by his owner. This was a heartbreaking but selfless decision—she adored Beckham and wanted to ensure he could continue to thrive with a family able to give him the time and care he deserves.

**Beckham** is a **3.5-year-old Cockapoo** (born June 2, 2022), weighing approximately **16 lbs**. He has been seen by our vet and is **healthy, microchipped, and fully up to date on his vaccinations**.

From day one, Beckham has settled beautifully into his foster home. He’s soaking up all the attention —**offer him a belly rub and you’ll have a best friend for life**. He currently lives with two foster dog siblings and gets along wonderfully with them, especially when it’s time to curl up together for naps. While Beckham enjoys canine company, his foster feels he would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the home, as long as he receives plenty of love, exercise, and opportunities to socialize with other dogs.

Beckham is truly a **dream dog**— calm, friendly, and incredibly affectionate. He’s a devoted little shadow who will happily follow you around the house and be your constant companion. At night, he sleeps soundly cuddled up with you in bed. He greets his people with a wagging tail and a happy heart every time.

He is **food motivated**, making him easy to train, and he is **fully potty trained**, doing his business outside on walks—which he really enjoys. Beckham walks nicely on leash and does not bark at people or other dogs. We believe he would do well in a home with **older children**, though this is not a requirement.

Beckham does **not need or want a crate**—he’s non-destructive and does just fine roaming freely around the house. He would not, however, be happy being left alone for long periods of time.

Beckham has only ever lived in a **house with access to a backyard**, and we do not believe a condo environment would suit him. He is **medium energy** and **low shedding** (though no guarantees for those with allergies) and will require **regular grooming**.

This sweet boy will make a **loyal, loving, and affectionate companion** for a very lucky family. Are you the forever home Beckham has been waiting for? If so, **apply today**— you will not be disappointed and will be rewarded with an incredible little soul by your side.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and rehome unwanted, abandoned, abused and unloved pets that find themselves alone and frightened in shelters. These animals give unconditional love and should receive the same love back. Unfortunately there is a need and while ever there is a need we will be there to help. Our long term goal is to build towards the opening of our own shelter and be able to help with behavioral issues, special needs, and to offer a haven to less adoptable pets. We are always very thankful for any pet related donations to assist the animals in our care
