My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INDOT is named after the Indiana Department of Transportation, but her true calling has been repairing hearts. Just a baby herself, she raised her own litter of kittens and then immediately stepped in to mother three more who arrived at the shelter freezing and in need of a new mama. INDOT can be a little shy at first, but the tiniest crack of a wet food can turns her into a playful, zoomy girl who keeps up with kittens half her size. Now officially retired from motherhood, this snowstorm-tested sweetheart is ready for a forever home where she can finally be the one doted on.

To encourage and assist existing and future pet owners in providing a good quality life for their pets.

To temporarily shelter stray, abandoned, neglected, abused and surrendered cats and dogs in a clean, comfortable, and safe environment while providing the best quality of life and medical care possible.

To facilitate the adoption of these companion animals into stable, loving homes.

To promote pet ownership as a lifetime commitment.

To cooperate with other animal-related organizations for the purpose of reducing the population of unwanted cats and dogs through adoption, spay/neuter and educational programs.

To further educate the public regarding the important benefits of the human/companion animal bond.
