Meet Hendrix - a snuggly 3 year old silky terrier with a big personality and a soft heart! Hendrix thrives in a calm, adult home where his boundaries are respected and his trust can continue to grow. He is a deeply devoted & affectionate boy who loves to be with “his person”.
When Hendrix wants affection, he has the cutest signature move: he’ll keep his back end standing while lowering his front half and half-rolling over, welcoming warm pets.
Hendrix is quite a refined, well behaved boy. He is potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained. He does fine with cats who leave him alone, but will need a home without other dogs. Once he’s done with a solid playtime (one of his favorite activities being tetherball), he’s ready to snuggle up on the couch for nap time.
Hendrix recently completed a board-and-train program with a professional trainer and has made huge strides in confidence and manners. He’s currently working on solidifying cues like sit, stay, come, leave it, place, and continuing to build confidence around new people. To set him up for success, post-adoption training support is available to help his new family with a smooth transition — a rare and valuable bonus!
Because Hendrix can be unsure with strangers at first, he’s looking for an adult-only home.
Hendrix has been patiently waiting for his person — not because he isn’t wonderful, but because he’s specific. And that’s okay. The right home for Hendrix will get a devoted, loving companion who will bond deeply and wholeheartedly.
If you’re looking for a sweet underdog with a loyal heart, Hendrix might just be your guy. Apply today to start your magical story!
