Hello!! My name is Rudy Here is some information about me:
Breed: Terrier Mix
Age: 1 year old
Gender: Male
Weight: 20 lbs
Height: tbd
Highlights: Outgoing, playful & affectionate
Hi… I’m Rudy.
And I’m here because a whole bunch of incredible humans refused to give up on me.
Not long ago, I was sitting in a scary, high-kill shelter in California. I was only a year old, confused, and running out of time. I was placed on the euthanasia list, and I didn’t know if I’d ever get to feel grass under my paws again—or a human hand scratching behind my ears. But then, in the nick of time, some amazing networkers and rescuers spoke up for me, worked their magic, and saved my life. Because of them, I’m here today, wagging my tail and dreaming about my forever family.
I’m now settling into my foster home and letting my real personality shine. I’m a 22-pound terrier mix with a big puppy heart and a happy soul. I’ve got moderate-to-high puppy energy and I love to play—give me toys, toss them, squeak them, and I’m in heaven. I’m playful, outgoing, and always ready for fun. Beach runs? Yes please. Zoomies absolutely included.
I’m still very much in my puppy stage, which means I can be a little mouthy when I’m excited or showing affection—it’s just how I communicate love right now. Because of that, I’d do best in a home without young kids or seniors. With people who understand puppies and are ready to guide me, I’m going to be an incredible companion. I have met the kitty companion in my foster home. Still too early if I will chase or not but so far off to a good start:

What I really want is someone to run with me, laugh with me, play with me… and let me give them lots of kisses. I’ve already survived so much, and I’m so grateful for every single new day. Now I’m just hoping the next chapter is you.
Love,
Rudy

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be charged the passenger fee in addition to this.
[MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
