My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Iggy — Your New Little Shadow with a Big Personality!

Iggy is an approx 5-year-old male mini poodle (about 15 lbs) who was found as a stray in Philadelphia, and sadly no one was looking for him or ever came for him.  He came into rescue matted and dirty, but he is such a sweet boy and his personality has started to shine.

This sweet boy is:
Good with other dogs
Good with cats
Unsure about young kids (older, respectful children may be best!)

Iggy is the perfect mix of playful and snuggly — he loves being outside, enjoys his walks, and has that fun, energetic sparkle… but once he gets his wiggles out, he’s happiest curled up right next to you for cuddles.

He also does great with:
Cuddling
Treats & pets
Puppy pads
Sleeping all night in his crate

Important note: Iggy will growl at other dogs sometimes when they come near his food, but his foster feeds him separately from the other dogs, and this simple routine works well. He does not do this with humans through.  He would do well as an only dog or with another calm dog, and is living with other dogs in his foster home.

A fenced-in yard is strongly preferred.  We do not recommend an apartment/condo — Iggy can bark when he’s excited or when he wants you close for attention (because he LOVES his people!).

Fostered in Sewell, NJ

If you’re looking for a small, loyal companion who will keep you company outside and then melt into your lap afterward… Iggy might just be your perfect match.

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are with fosters on the east coast. The location in which the foster resides should be listed with each profile.

We are setting up some adoption events now, but are free for private meet and greets if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets!

More about this rescue

We have a passion for senior animals. To be able to save an animal from dying alone in a shelter, to give it a chance to live out its last days/months/years in a home with the proper care and love it deserves, instead of a cold shelter, is what drives us to keep going.

We obviously have financial needs that come with rescuing senior dogs, so we will be rescuing puppies and younger dogs as well so we are able to care for our seniors.
