Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Augustus - Augie, Augs, The Augster, Augieman...whatever you want to call him. Augie is a big, soft-hearted boy with the gentlest of souls and a nervous system that just doesn't love the modern world. He came into TGPR after being found on the streets starving. In spite of that, he is incredibly sweet, friendly with people and, once he feels safe, is affectionate and enjoys your company. Augie also has severe anxiety, particularly around city life and loud, unpredictable noises. Traffic, sirens, garbage trucks, you name it, the constant stimulation is overwhelming for him. We would really like to see him in a quiet, serene, country home. Now for the good news! Augie's anxiety is medically managed and he does well on his medications. They make a noticeable difference and allow him to relax, rest and enjoy life. We are hopeful that with the right environment, he may even be able to wean off some of the meds. Augie really needs a patient and understanding adopter who is experienced (or willing to learn) and committed to continuing his medication and management plan. What will you get in return? A loving and loyal friend for life. In the right home, he will be a devoted and gentle companion who repays kindness with unwavering love.
