My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ayo!
Ayo is a wonderful, well mannered dog with the best personality. He is fully house trained and potty trained, and he sleeps through the night like a champ. Ayo is incredibly friendly and affectionate, he loves belly rubs, butt pats, and sneaking in sweet little kisses whenever he gets the chance.
He’s fantastic with kids and was raised around young children ages 0–4, making him gentle and calm with babies while still playful and fun with older kids, adults, and other dogs. Ayo has moderate energy: he enjoys playtime and sniffing everything, but he’s also perfectly happy relaxing indoors especially during the colder months.
Ayo is crate trained and enjoys sleeping in his cozy bed, either inside his crate or just outside of it, depending on his mood. He does great at the vet, loves car rides, and never says no to a Starbucks run for a pup cup. He also has a bit of off-leash training under his belt.
His favorite treat? Peanut butter, hands down.
Ayo would make an amazing companion for a family or individual looking for a loving, gentle, and well rounded dog.

More about this rescue

At Shelters and Shelves, we firmly believe that all dogs deserve a second chance at finding their happily ever after. The dogs we rescue have all been marked as “urgent”, placing them at highest risk should the shelter reach kennel capacity. There is nothing inherently wrong with any of them; most are simply passed over based on scant first impressions or appearance. Some are medical cases that need time and space to recover outside of the stressful shelter environment. Others have a harder time finding families due to specific needs in a new home. All of them, however, have the perfect home somewhere out there waiting for them; they just need a little more time (and a little extra help) to find it. We make sure their story doesn't end at the shelter.
