Hi Friends! My name is Sabrina! In case you didn't know, the root of my name means patience and endurance and patience is exactly what I've been practicing while waiting for my new home.
I came to the shelter last summer because my owner fell on hard times and needed to get some help - so my sisters and I found ourselves looking for new homes. While I was sad at first, I really am looking forward to what's ahead for me.
A little bit about me, I'm a 3.5-year-old - medium mixed breed gal - weighing in at just about 50lbs. I've been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and I'm up to date on my heartworm testing. I love people! I love to snuggle, eat snacks, and soak up all the love you have to offer. I previously lived with other dogs and might be okay living with another dog again - provided I meet them first, to make sure we're a good fit. Those things that meow though - are not a good fit for me - they are too much fun to chase.
I recently got to enjoy a foster weekend away from the shelter and my foster momma had some great things to say about me. She said I did great in her home with very few accidents, and I really enjoyed being close by her side. I loved sleeping at the foot of the bed and keeping her tootsies warm. I did well meeting new people, and soaked up all the extra attention!
I would love to find my furever home, and if you think I might be a good fit - stop by the shelter Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm. If you have questions, shoot my friends an email at AVASCares2@gmail.com or by phone at 989-348-4117. I hope I get to meet you soon!

At AuSable Valley Animal Shelter we pride ourselves on making adoption accessible for all those looking to have a pet for companionship. Most of these pets have had an unknown past so we work hard to make sure their futures are safe, secure, and happy. It is always our priority in a new home, that they will be properly cared for and receive the proper veterinary care and home environment they need to live a long and happy life.
